Vacuum on a low-suction or no-beater setting to protect the pile - never vacuum the fringe or edge binding. Rotate the rug every few months so foot traffic and sunlight wear it evenly. Blot spills straight away with a clean white cloth; do not rub or soak. Use a rug pad underneath to stop slipping and reduce crushing. Professional cleaning only - do not machine wash, dry clean at home or steam clean.
